Creation Fields

Preview Fields allow you to determine which fields will be displayed when previewing a Prospect, Sales Project, or Account Growth Project in Membrain. With a combination of default and customizable fields, users can tailor the information they see at a glance for a streamlined experience.

Along with the default fields which are required during creation (Company, Process, Owner, and Name), you have the flexibility to select which additional Custom fields to show when creating a new object.

Mandatory fieldsIn addition to this, you can also specify if these fields should be mandatory fields, meaning they are required to be completed before allowing the object to be created, ensuring no important information is skipped.

Step-by-Step guide

In the example below, we will add the Competition field, so when a new Sales Project, Prospect, or Account Growth Project is being created, the salesperson can add who the Competitor is. We will also make it a mandatory field, so it cannot be skipped.

Administrators can configure Creation Settings from the Process Editor.

  1. Go to System Setup - Processes.

  2. Choose the Process you want to edit.
  3. At the top of the screen, click Settings, followed by the Creation Fields tab.
  4. Click on +Add Fields to select any standard Process or Custom Fields, including Stakeholders, which are used in the Process and then click Apply.

  5. If you want to make this newly included field mandatory, just tick the "Required" box.
  6. Any previously added fields can also be removed from the creation dialog by clicking the x-button next to that field in the Creation Settings (mandatory fields cannot be removed from the Creation Settings).

  7. Rearrange the list by clicking on the handle to the left and drag and drop, to place the object in the order you would like it to be viewed.
  8. Once you're happy with your selections, click Save. And, remember to Publish your process to apply these changes.

Additional standard additions for Sales Processes

In the Creation Settings for Sales Processes, the Value and Closing date are automatically added for the Sales Project creation dialog.

  1. Having the option to add the Value and/Closing Date gives you the opportunity to vital information at the very start of a project. See the example below.
  2. Having Value and/or Closing Date turned on in the Creation Settings does not make the fields mandatory to fill out when creating a new Sales Project, although it lets the Sales reps be more effective when adding new Sales Projects to the Pipeline.
