Data Cleansing

Membrain's Data Cleansing Service focuses on identifying and rectifying inaccuracies, inconsistencies, and errors within your dataset. This efficiency boost not only saves time and resources, but positions your business for agility and success in our data-driven world.

This process involves the identification, correction, and removal of corrupt or inaccurate records to ensure the integrity, accuracy, and reliability of the data. By optimizing your data, you’ll streamline workflows, enabling your team to focus on strategic initiatives rather than grappling with disorganized, inaccurate data.

What we’ll cover

Membrain's professional services include three stages:  Planning, Implementation, and Review.

01_glow Planning

One 1-hour planning session with a data expert to review your current data set(s) and discuss the data that needs cleansing.  Your data expert will determine the scope (columns, rows, number of spreadsheets, etc.) of the project and provide a cost and timeline estimate.

 02_glow Implementation

Your data expert will:

Identify and remove duplicate entries, reducing redundancy and improving data accuracy
Identify and address missing or incomplete data, employing techniques like imputation to fill in gaps
Ensure the data adheres to regulatory requirements ( GDPR) and internal organizational policies
Additional agreed upon tasks, if needed

 03_glow Review Meeting

One 1-hour session with the data expert to review the cleansed data and answer any questions before the data is imported

 04_Glow Final Review Meeting

One 1-hour session with the data expert to review the cleansed data in Membrain

 05_glow Parameters

All data to be cleansed must be sent to the data expert 72 hours prior to the planning meeting. This allows ample time for review.  Planning meetings may be rescheduled if the data isn’t received in advance.

Critical Guidelines:

  • The data must be in a spreadsheet format, like XLS/XLSX or CVS.

  • The data is submitted in an unformatted state. Please remove macro-enabled spreadsheets, merged cells, grouped data, etc., as these formats are not permissible.

  • Please remove any data columns containing redundant information or system fields that you don't want to keep, ahead of submitting the data.

  • The size of each individual spreadsheet should not exceed 50 MB.

  • Your import data must be arranged in an unfiltered spreadsheet with clear, unmerged, Columns (with Header Names) and Rows without formulas.

  • Only one import type per spreadsheet/file. Companies in one sheet, Contacts in another and so on. You can either separate different types of import data by file or by different sheets in the same file.

  • The Data Import Services is primarily meant to be used to import the relevant data that you need to build your business going forward. That said, some historical data can be very important to bring with you into Membrain. We usually recommend importing historical data going back to a maximum of 3 years, especially Activity Data like Notes, historical Emails, Appointments and Tasks.

What types of data cannot be imported into Membrain?

  • Documents - these must be uploaded to their respective location manually inside Membrain
  • Historical emails - emails can only be imported into Membrain as Notes via an Activity import including date and participant/recipient details, as well as the email content itself. Membrain's Sales Inbox can look back over the past 30 days and sync relevant emails to related projects, according to System Settings and Stakeholder information.
