Update on May 25, 2022 by Lesley Jääskeläinen

Fika* with Membrain is an informal live webinar where we discuss the all things Membrain, and give you a chance to ask questions and chat with us.

For May's "Fika with Membrain" we discussed how getting your whole team to use Membrain doesn't have to cost you an arm and a leg with our lite user account option.

Lite User Account Benefits

  • Improve cross-team collaboration by getting the whole team to use the same tool.
  • Increase productivity with shared templates and email tracking.
  • Save money with different levels of access since not everyone on your team might need the same capabilities.

  • Add more users at a fraction of the cost of a full user
  • Available on Membrain Go

Find your sweet spot with Win/Loss updates

Update on May 24, 2022 by Lesley Jääskeläinen

Trying to figure out why you won or lost a deal can feel like journeying into the “dark side” of buyer psychology. People are complicated, and often what we ask for isn’t what we really want.

Thankfully our buying behaviors all subscribe to some type of pattern and the trick is being able to spot these patterns faster than your competitors.

This is where mountains of data and AI come into play. The smarter they get, the smarter you get.

Our own Win/Loss analysis capability has just gotten smarter with an increased level of insight into the reasons that influence your customers. Within seconds you can drill down into the reasons why your customer did or did not buy from you.

Screen Shot 2022-05-23 at 2.14.50 PM

Win Rate Influences like the below are ranked competitively against each other:

  • Main Challenges
  • Industry
  • Employee Size
  • Source Category
  • Competition
  • Timeframe

What’s new is the ability to click on a specific influencer and quickly see helpful comparative data.

For instance, if you are comparing which industries work best as one of the influencers behind your product purchases, it would be much more helpful to see all the different industries you are tracking side by side. Now you can.

Screen Shot 2022-05-24 at 12.54.26 PM

More insight makes it easier to:

  • Focus on the areas that are proven to be successful
  • Edit your process to adapt to the situation
  • Discover competition previously unknown
  • Learn why you lost
  • Understand who your perfect customer is
  • Disqualify 'poor fit customers' quicker

Transparency is the antidote to unreliable forecasts, low win rates and a bloated pipeline. That's what you get with our win/loss drill down...

The ability to navigate and interpret the data you collect around why you win or lose.

The dark side doesn't look so dark anymore does it?

You can learn how to use this feature here. We've also got a great discussion going on LinkedIn around what prospects want and you can join in here.

More fluidity in outcomes for prospecting

Update on May 20, 2022 by Lesley Jääskeläinen

Our shiny new green Qualify Button has just grown some baby wings. These wings give you more independence when qualifying a prospect by allowing you to select what happens for a certain outcome.

Previously, when clicking on the green qualify button a sales project was automatically created. Now, there are more options within our prospecting module (for now) allowing you to automatically move qualified prospects to an account growth project or back to a prospecting project.

Like a happy dancer you can hop back and forth in your workflows with a fluidity you didn’t have before.

Successful Outcome

But that is not all, friend. No, that is not all. You can also choose which process the new project gets added to.

You choose. Your choice. You da' boss.

*Bonus Tip -
The green button can also be reconfigured to say “Create Account Growth Project” or “Create Prospecting Project” instead of the default.

For instance if “Partner Leads” is one of your processes and you would like to create an account growth project off the back of qualifying a prospect, you can now bypass the default "create a sales project".

More options for how you want to put your customers through the workflows makes it easier for you to execute your process, and therefore easier for you to win those deals!

Easy, breezy, beautiful scheduling. On your terms.

Update on May 12, 2022 by Lesley Jääskeläinen

N

Who knew such simple rules could eliminate a boatload of hassle? That's what you get with our latest update to booking appointments through Membrain Meet.

People outside of your organization can now book a meeting with multiple members of your team. All through a shared link. 😎

Uncomplicating the process of scheduling meetings with multiple people means...

More time connecting +
Less busywork =
More productivity

In order to help that sink in...

Here's a reminder of the "before" sitch when booking meetings with multiple people (Not even considering multiple time zones) was a massive stress ball and time suck.

First, there’s the many clicks to navigate between multiple calendars. Then the brain crunch trying spot a shared bit of open availability. Clicking back and forth and up and down, only to get swept sideways to the ol' pen and paper; just to get a quick overview of potential times between all the calendars.

The time slot is finally chosen, maybe 5-20 minutes later, and the invites go out one by one.

You can finally get back to your day. Or can you??

What about the inevitable back and forth email discussion around better time alternatives. Tack on another 30 minutes of your time, just gone. Or what about a last minute need to reschedule? No problem, just start all over. Bye-bye-hour-of-your-time.

We want to give you back that hour, to do more superhero stuff in the sales world.

Screen Shot 2022-05-12 at 10.21.46 AM

With just a few simple rules for your availability preferences invitees can view synced availability between multiple calendars. Scheduling meetings with multiple people with less hassle also earns you more points for courtesy and professionals. 🤗

How this can reduce your stress -

  • Clears away hassle
  • Simplifies scheduling process
  • Reduces interruptions
  • Reduces calendar conflicts
  • Makes rescheduling a breeze
  • Reduces headaches
  • No more back and forth emails

One way we have been using this capability at Membrain is for our data import meetings with our new customers where multiple people from Membrain are needed for the call. Now when we send an invite link to the customer they can easily find a time that works for everyone from one screen.

Massive stress reliever all around!

Modern scheduling is the new black, or as us 90’s kids like to say, Baby Got Back.

Keep Membrain forms organized internally with new customization

Update on May 2, 2022 by Lesley Jääskeläinen

Now that we have rolled out Membrain Forms, our excited users have requested a feature to keep the administrative side of it under control.

You can now add a custom headline that is different from the name of the form. This feature allows you to name the form in a structured way yet still have a compelling header that will appear to the customer.

This is important as you create more and more forms that begin to pile up in your overview list with meaningless names. You will soon get to the point where you lose control of which form is which in the overview list.

Now let’s be clear. A headline is what your customer sees. A name is what you see in Membrain.

image (3)-2

Before this capability, whatever you wanted the customer to see simply became the name of the form. So, if you had a survey form with a header “What was your implementation like”, it would also get saved within Membrain with that name.

Imagine the search nightmare when navigating through previously created and saved forms within Membrain. How are you going to know if the form was for marketing or sales or customer success with obscure titles like “Evaluation Form” or “Event Registration”?

Our marketing manager recently created a form named "SaaSiest - Ball Wall Contest" with the headline as "Register your achievement" to log competitors for a contest we had at a recent event.

Without this distinction in naming the form it would've been very confusing to figure out what "Register your achievement" was used for.

image (2)-2-1

Another update to Membrain Forms are Text Blocks. You can add a paragraph of text before the questions start in the form to help describe what the form is about and why you should fill it out.

Additional Life Saving Updates to Membrain Forms -

  • Archiving
  • Copying forms

Before Membrain Forms, you likely saved your forms in a marketing tool that required you to set up an integration or manually copy and paste the form fields into excel. One of our goals at Membrain is to reduce complexity for our users and Membrain Forms makes it easier to execute your sales process by automatically creating prospects when someone fills out a form on your website.

If you’re ready to reduce confusion and gain more control head on over to our help center to read up on Membrain Forms here.

Or reach out to support@membrain.com and we'll be happy to walk you through it.

Ensure projects close on time with new date rules

Update on April 28, 2022 by Lesley Jääskeläinen

Imagine a personal calendar date guardian who’s always protecting you from missing important dates in your sales projects.

Staying on top of the countless start dates, end dates and renewal dates between all your projects is miserable, so we decided to give you a little help to gain that competitive edge.

In your process editor you now have the ability to set up rules for “before and after” specific dates.

Using date field rules helps remind you of important and urgent dates that occur when managing your projects. You can use any date field that is within your process along with custom date fields.

Screen Shot 2022-04-13 at 11.22.07

Examples of dates you can adjust

  • Start dates
  • Timing for prospects
  • Renewal management
  • Delivery timelines
  • Closing dates

Let’s look at some different ways you can use this:

  • Get a heads up on which customers are coming up on their contract renewal date by adding the contract end date as a rule to alert with a red flag. Adding a 90 day out alert with a yellow flag gives another level of protection.
  • For new projects, trigger a flag to alert close to when the project should close.
  • Set up alerts to give coaching at 30 days and 60 days after a Project Go Live Date.

Setting up alerts to remind you of important dates within your projects frees your mind to focus on bigger activities that move the needle. By helping you stay on top of what is happening within your projects, the ability to mitigate anything that might prevent a project from closing on time increases. And closing projects on time is always a good thing.

Not everyone can afford a personal assistant let alone one as dedicated and energetic as Membrain, so what are you waiting for? Reach out to support@membrain.com and we'll be happy to walk you through it.

Powerful update helps you keep project dates from slipping

Update on April 12, 2022 by Lesley Jääskeläinen

For those interested in squeezing all the juice from their Membrain experience, we’ve got a simple yet powerful update for you.

This bad boy was even requested by one of our power users and we think you’re going to love it! Drum roll please….

We’ve now added the ability to use rules and conditions to sales project closing dates in your pipeline. This allows you to see how many times a closing date has been pushed, giving you a more realistic understanding of your pipeline. Based on the rules you set up, Membrain can:

  • Alert you when sales project’s closing dates are slipping
  • Trigger internal conversations about how to manage the situation
  • Contribute to smarter probability forecasting

Screen Shot 2022-04-11 at 15.27.07
This feature helps salespeople and managers keep track of projects that just keep getting moved forward. Think of it like a checks and balances system that allows you to automatically:

  • Trigger Playbooks

  • Tighten Rules

  • Create Tasks

  • Send Alerts

  • Trigger Scorecards

This helps increase accountability by not allowing closing dates to get pushed unchecked and is definitely one of our top best practice recommendations.

Screen Shot 2022-04-11 at 15.27.18

Adding notes and flags help crucial information stand out so you can make better decisions. There is a lot of flexibility in the rules, allowing this simple update to give a lot of utility for a power user.

In fact, this level of big picture visibility would cost a heck of a lot more in other CRMs, so what are you waiting for? For as little as €19 per month, you can start pulling answers to tough questions out of your holster faster than Annie Oakley.

Bespoke Your Process With Powerful Updates to Automated Events

Update on April 7, 2022 by Lesley Jääskeläinen

We’ve added new capabilities to your process that will have a big effect on streamlining your workflow.

In a time when life keeps telling us to “let go” and “stop trying to control everything”, we are here to give you back some peace of mind with more control over the technology you use to be better at your job.

For starters, we’ve added new conditions and rules to automated events that allow users to do more complex things. Now available within all of the modules, the phrase "If this, then that" has now become your new best friend.

This feature allows you to set conditions and rules to make very specific actions happen when an event is created. Here’s a few examples of how awesomeness could play out:

  • When you've won a sales project, an account growth project is only created IF they're in a certain industry
  • You want to send a notification to guide, but only IF the value of that account is above a certain size
  • You send an email to the Sales Manager that a Sales Project is won IF the won reason is “Strategic Planning”
  • Create a strategic account project and then automatically create an implementation project IF the value is more than x.
  • When you lose a deal in the pipeline due to timing being off, but they were a great fit  and we don't want to lose track of them, we can create a prospect using conditions and rules

The world is your oyster when it comes to ways you can use automated events. What would you like to do when a specific event is created? What action do you want to take? Do you want to add a label? Remove a label? Create a task? Create a prospect?

In addition to the amped up conditions and rules, when a sales project is won you can now  get more specific about the information that gets carried over to the next project when you win a deal, convert a prospect or create an account growth project. Anything you deem important to keep track of like technical fit, project delivery date or opportunity score can now follow you to the next phase.

This applies to both projects created from events and also from a step in the process.

Allowing you to:

  • Select the process
  • Assign an owner
  • Copy value and other custom field information
  • Copy documents
  • Copy contacts and stakeholders
  • Copy products

    Screen Shot 2022-04-04 at 15.38.17

In a world where friends and even family encourage you to swipe right, we're here to tell you it's OK to be super selective, and now we've just made it even easier. 💥

Check out how to do some other cool stuff on automated events with our help center here.
