Write your own rules - now with activity types

Update on October 23, 2020 by Brenda McDonald

Applying Rules to your workflows helps you stay on top of what's important, keep momentum up, and ensure your Prospect, Sales Project or Account Growth Projects are in a healthy state.

Of course, sending alerts to the project owner or their manager, along with generating color-coded flags within a project, are great ways to highlight when expected activity levels are not being reached. But it's a real eye-opener when you shift your focus to look at not just the Activity Type, but Activity sub-type which is due on a project.

With this latest update, its now possible to create rules that trigger when certain expected  activities have not been carried out on a Prospect, Sales Project or Account Growth Project. Not only looking at the high level Activity (like Appointment), but taking the customized Activity Types you have created that suit your business (like Proposal meeting or Weekly Sales meeting), and allowing you craft your rules around those customizations.

Some ways to improve your process rules today:

Rules can now be configured to alert on a specific Activity
sub-type

When working on Key Accounts with a rule that triggers when there has not been an Appointment in 30 days. Update this rule to trigger when there hasn't been a Customer Review or a Partner Planning meeting in 30 days.

Or when working with Prospects, a rule that alerts when there hasn't been a Phonecall made in 5 days, Make this rule more specific and generate alerts when a Follow-up Call or an Exploratory Call is overdue.

We hope you're excited to try out this new way to apply rules to your processes.  Check out these articles and learn more about Creating Rules and Customized Activity types.  Or email us at support@membrain.com and we'll be happy to share our best practice advice on how to keep your team on track with Activity Rules.

Have you always wanted to see key data from other business apps in Membrain? Of course you have!

Our new Automated Data Import feature makes this easy, allowing for smooth updating and sharing of relevant data with your Sales Team.

Data is the backbone for informed decision-making. And when relevant external data is coupled with Prospect, Customer and Account information in Membrain, it brings a whole new level of insights to your Sales Team.

How does it work?

In a nutshell, this new feature takes data from any other business app which you can export to a Google Sheet, and brings it in to Membrain automatically. Through a one-time setup, Membrain performs regular data imports, updating key information right into your sales processes, giving your sales team the additional information they need to make improved business decisions. Here's a handy step-by-step guide to help you get started.

What can I use it for?

There are lots of ways this can be used, from simple yet effective to more complex data sharing scenarios: Here are just a few ideas to get you thinking:

Gather prospect information at a live event with ease. Create a simple Google Sheet, configure it to automatically import with just a few steps, and allow your visitors to add their details as they drop by. Membrain will take care of the rest and automatically populate your Prospecting Campaign with these new leads ready for you to get started.

View customer's behavioral data from your Marketing app alongside current Customer information in Membrain and give your sales team the competitive edge they need to grow and expand key accounts.

Pull out specific data from your ERP or financial system, for example weekly transactional sales, and import it regularly into Membrain to view alongside other Sales Project or Account Growth Project information. Create powerful Dashboards and analyze your total sales in a different light.

Milestones in Prospecting

Update on July 21, 2020 by Rosa Tesfai

A

milestone is a marker that signifies a change or stage in development. Milestones are powerful components because they show key events and map forward movement in your Prospecting steps. Milestones act as signposts through the course of your Prospecting journey, helping ensure you stay on track.

When working with a Prospect, there are usually one or more Steps that define the main objectives of the entire Prospecting Campaign. marathon runninig mile 13 woman It may be to have the  the exploration meeting booked or to get confirmation that the Prospect is willing to go forward, or both.

By marking those Steps in your
Campaign as Milestones, Membrain will support your Sales Representatives by adding clear visibility to those objectives.

We are excited about this great addition to Membrain and we hope you are too.

Mandatory Fields for a more structured database

Update on July 8, 2020 by Erik Apelkrona

Would you prefer to have data fields in Membrain that are never blank? This new feature now makes it possible to decide which fields will be mandatory to fill out when adding a new object in Membrain, such as Company, Contact, Prospect, Sales Project or Account Growth Project on Membrain Go & Desktop.

The better you know the customers, the greater are the possibilities of progress in your sales process and therefore it will be to your advantage to capture important information in the earliest stages of creating an object in Membrain.

The new Creation Setting that are to be found in the System Setup page and in the Process Editor, lets you select which related Custom fields to show when creating a new object, ensuring no important information is skipped over.

nick-tiemeyer-tNGcZlycLtQ-unsplashAs an addition to that, the fields you believe can hold key information for your operation, can be set as mandatory fields and are therefore required to fill out before completing the creation of an object in Membrain.

By applying Mandatory fields you will establish a higher standard of information in your CRM Database which in turn also amplifies other functionalities throughout all of Membrain - such as richer analytical reports, segmenting your pipeline, qualifying prospects and much more.

With these great additions, you may even feel reading this help article on how to set up mandatory fields is mandatory for you to read. We really hope these new capabilities are helpful to you and your team!
