Product Improvements - Our summer round-up

We love making improvements to Membrain and pushing the boundaries with new features. And this summer we've nailed it bringing you a chock-a-block list of exciting stuff, big and small.

From new graph types in the Dashboard to stylish HTML email on Membrain Go and lots in between, there's something interesting for everyone. Here's a quick run-through of what you might have missed:

 

Hover in the Activity Stream to see History/Mini-graph 

A powerful new feature in the Activity Stream shows you a wealth of information at a glance. These little graphs should not be underestimated! They pack a punch and show you the history of any Custom Field you have in Membrain and their values over time.

Create Dashboard graphs from your pre-existing Lists in a flash

You've already created some great Lists for Sales Projects and Prospects, so why not add them to your favorite Dashboard and include them in your overview or meetings with the team. This is a clever but simple way to view tons of information at a glance, alongside the rest of your personalized graphs for a more detailed view.

 

Track Revenue and Payments quickly and easily, the way that suits you
Membrain's Products feature was released earlier this year to help track revenue on items and services sold within Sales Projects. Now with additional options and improved usability, it's possible to add simple revenue payments and expected incomes from Sales Projects, in a more flexible way that suits your unique business model. Track payments over time, increase revenue forecasting accuracy and learn whats working for your business in a more simplified, streamlined workflow. 

 

Connect to your Gmail or GSuite account with additional peace of mind

We are proud to announce that Membrain now supports OAuth2, giving you a more secure way to connect your email and calendar to the heart of your Membrain account. Using this framework offers more secure authentication and authorization capabilities and allows Membrain sync to your Gmail or GSuite account in a seamless, more secure way than ever before.

Replacing the traditional, less secure username and password method means there are no more password change policy issues, sign in errors, or simply forgotten passwords that can get in the way of a successful two-way sync.


Manage your growing library of Templates and Snippets with ease

As all sales leaders or admins know, managing and maintaining an up to date library of templates and snippets that are created across teams can take time. So we've made this task much more user-friendly by adding additional tools to these lists like grouping, sorting as well as some clever quick filter options. Check and amend who has access to what, and get insights into when items were created, last used, and even how often over a certain period. We like these additions so much we've extended them to the Dashboard and Filters Management areas too!  

 

Add color and style to your emails from Membrain Go

The all-new WYSIWYG editor in email composer on Membrain Go helps you create powerful and professional emails while you're on the move. Create beautifully styled HTML emails with the font, color and size to help your message stand out from the crowd.

 

Drive adoption of Membrain with new User Management insights

If you're managing a team, you're going to love this! With a brand new view you can easily see how your colleagues are using Membrain and where they perhaps need more encouragement to get the most out of the system. Be the driving force behind Membrain for your team and help push adoption with insights on specific features and functionality that are important, like last login date, calendar sync enabled, and # of templates used to name just a few.

 

Share more data with our improved Zapier integration

Our Zapier integration helps so many customers integrate Membrain into pretty much any application out there. That's why we're continuously adding additional options and data points for inclusion in zaps, to make sharing data amongst applications easily set up, reliable and stress-free.

 

Add context in the Content Hub with fewer clicks

Membrain's Content Hub is quickly becoming our most loved module, and rightly so! Its the central place from where you can view and share (internally and externally) your prized business collateral and sales enablement material. And it's that magic word "Context" that gives it the intelligence it needs to offer up suggestions for relevant content just when you need it. So we've made it even easier to add that all important context to your content, during the upload process itself. It's the little things.

 

Get more out of Activity tracking with Custom Fields for Activities

Recording activities is useful of course, but tracking the important information like what the outcome of a meeting was can make all the difference. Now with the addition of a new kind of customizable field you can raise the bar and get more out of activity tracking and next steps.

 

Use decimals in Scorecards, Number and Calculation fields

Sometimes the devil is in the detail, so its important to be able to get really specific when you need to. The ability to now include decimals across these areas of Membrain gives more flexibility and depth to the information you record and rely on to make important decisions every day.

Targeted batch emails - made simple

Some exciting improvements to Membrain's email capabilities means you can now send multiple personalized, targeted emails to a select audience based on key information like Stakeholder role, Industry, Competition or any other criteria that you choose.

But lets' get one thing straight... we're not talking email automation here. You know, those all too familiar spam emails you've seen of late? Yeah, not that. We do things differently 'round here. 

Quality, not quantity, equals improved engagement

Its been proven time and time again that one well-written email, with relevant content and a personal touch has the power of a thousand ill-fated automated emails.

But we all want to work efficiently. So let's take a look at some examples where this new functionality can save you time and help increase your email engagement rates with both prospecting efforts and the opportunities already in your pipeline.

  • Reach out to all the C-level Stakeholders in a Prospecting Campaign. Narrow it down to 1 particular industry, requirement or budget range and send your email template with a killer Case Study.
  • Touch base with all the Decision Makers in your Sales Projects and send them important information or updates, based on what stage they are at in the process or any other criteria.

If you're using The Content Hub, its easy to find and include content that is most relevant to send to your hand-picked list of contacts. Or simply select from the suggestions offered up by the Content Hub, using its intelligent recommendation technology.

If you're not sure which one you're on, check out your Account Details page in Membrain or email our billing team for more information. Briefly: 

  • For those of you who are already on the New Pricing Structure and have the Prospecting Module, these features are available to you right now. Let our Customer Success team know if you'd like some help getting started, or check out our Help Center for step-by-step guides and you'll be up and running in no time.

  • If you are on the New Pricing Structure but don't have the Prospecting Module yet, you can see the upgrade cost, and even add the functionality straight from your Membrain account.  From the Membrain Account Details page, scroll down and Click to turn on Prospecting to get access to this feature straight away!

  • Or if you still on a Legacy plan (Foundation, Performance or Excellence) sit tight and we will be in touch early next week with information on how you can upgrade and get access to these features and start enjoying the benefits of Prospect Engagement Playbooks.

New feature! - Prospecting Process 
At the heart of Membrains Prospecting Engagement Playbooks is an all-new step by step process. Here you can create an action-based and effective prospecting process, helping you stay engaged, and focus your efforts where they make a difference.

Prospect Qualifiers
Qualifiers are now found on the right-hand side of the page. They help you see if a prospect is a good fit or not, and indicate when it’s ready to enter your pipeline as a fully qualified sales project.

Companies & Contacts
Company and Contact details have also moved location, under Qualifiers. Here you can see all the important contacts related to a prospect and can easily add or edit information like phone numbers, email addresses or titles. Then engage with your prospects with a simple click.

Custom Fields
Not everything is a Qualifier. Here you can find and record additional relevant information about the company or the prospect itself, helping you see the big picture.

Expand/Collapse
Any of these sections on the right-hand side can be expanded or collapsed. Click on the section name or the arrow icon to adjust your layout to your liking.

Previous/Next quick arrows
Top left, you can quickly move back and forth between the prospects in your current list. The order of these are based on how your list is sorted. Smooth!

Activity Toolbar
In this toolbar, you can quickly send emails, create appointments and more. It also conveniently sticks with you when you move down the page!

Modern Authentication for O365 sync

We are proud to announce that Membrain now supports Modern Authentication: a new, more secure way to connect your email and calendar to the heart of your Membrain account.

Well, it's a new method of identity management (using OAuth 2.0 Framework) that offers more secure authentication and authorization capabilities. It allows Membrain sync to your Office 365 email and calendar account in a seamless, more secure way than ever before.

Modern Authentication replaces the traditional, less secure method which used a username and password to connect the two accounts. Using this new technology, there are no more password change policy issues, sign in errors, or simply forgotten passwords that can get in the way of a successful two-way sync.

In fact, it takes just one click to set up the connection, giving you access to features like Engagement Analytics and Email Templates & Snippets for the Sales Inbox, and Zoom integration and Membrain Meet online scheduling service for the Sales Calendar.

Enable Modern Authentication with this super quick set-up guide

Modern Authentication security for Membrain is currently in a Beta mode, though available to everyone who wishes to sync their Office 365 account to Membrain. 

More clarity for tables and bar charts

An important part of any sales effectiveness platform is the ability to clearly show the results of all your sales efforts in an easy to understand format.

Membrain's Dashboard and associated graphs give you that insight in fully customizable and simple to create graphs and charts. Recently, we've made some small but powerful improvements to how reports - and their data - are presented.

Whether you prefer line graphs, bar charts, donut graphs or just simple tables, the Dashboard is for you. But its not always clear at first glance what kind of figures you're looking at, and what the bottom line is. So we've made this information easier to see with these two improvements:

Tables with TotalsSticky Total Row for Tables

Tables now include a total row at the bottom, which is always visible and moves with you, so you can see the results even when scrolling through your data.

 

 

 

Barcharts with valulesVisible column totals on Bar Charts

Bar charts now show their total value above each column, so you can effortlessly see the specifics of your data at a glance, without having to hover.

 

 

These two improvements make viewing the live dashboard more intuitive and are particularly useful in the pdf's you export, and as a subscriber to the Dashboard.

What's your favorite content?

We all have our favorites in this world. Favorite movie, favorite wine, favorite song. So what about Sales Content and Collateral?

Those go-to-pieces that you use over and over, that you rely on to hit home and get the message across perfectly are now even easier to find in Membrain's Content Hub using favorites. 

CH favouritesThis clever addition to The Content Hub gives you more control over how you access content, and select it for viewing or sharing with your contacts.

So how does it work? Well, the short answer is obvious. You mark a piece of content as a favorite, and it shows up in your favorites list. Great!  

But there's more to it than that...

Marking content as favorites also affects how intelligent recommendations work. When we add context to our content - like a sales process stage, a stakeholder, or a specific industry - Membrain suggests the most relevant content to you when its likely to have the most impact. 

So now, when we "favorite" a piece of content that we know gives consistent results, its rating and chances of being recommended is increased, making it more easily accessible to you.

Leaderboards now available in the Dashboard

Ever wonder who your Top 10 customers are? Or what the Top 10 services/products sold last year were? Or how about the Top 5 industries which bring in the most revenue? 

Well, wonder no more. We've just added an exciting new feature to the Dashboard which allows you to create graphs that show you these powerful insights, helping you get right to the heart of your data.

And by incorporating this new option, you take away the outliers and get more impactful, visual graphs, with all the color and clarity you've come to expect.

Revenue Leaderboard

Some examples of how you can use this type of ranking in graphs are:

  • Top10 Performing Account Managers by Revenue this FY
  • Top 5 Sales Projects due to close this FQ, segmented by Probability
  • Bottom 5 Customers by MRR 
  • Top 20 Largest Sales Projects won (all time)
  • Top 5 unhealthy opportunities in the Pipeline
  • Top 10 Largest new customers this FY
  • Top 20 inbound Prospects by number of employees
  • Bottom 10 Products sold this FQ
