Data Import - Custom Metrics Automated Imports

Custom Metrics in Membrain allow you to define and track various performance indicators specific to your business needs. These metrics can be populated manually, via the API, or through imports. Under System Setup - Analytics & Reporting - Custom Metrics, you can define the metrics you want. Additionally, you can use set these metrics for various users, set goals for users, teams, or globally, and create performance graphs in the Dashboard. Goal progress for these metrics can be tracked in Membrain Elevate, My Goals, and the Performance View.

Membrain's Automated Data Imports allow you to seamlessly import Custom Metric Data through Google Drive and OneDrive. This feature supports importing data for multiple Custom Metrics or specific Custom Metrics, enhancing your data management and reporting capabilities within Membrain.

Importing Custom Metrics

Go to System Setup - Data Management - Automated Data Import and click on the "+Add Automated Data Importer" button. Choose "Custom Metrics" as the import type. After authenticating and selecting a file from Google Drive or OneDrive, you will need to choose the type of Custom Metric to import.

Import Options

  1. Multi Metric File: This option allows you to import data for multiple Custom Metrics from a single spreadsheet. It consolidates data into one file, making it easier to manage and update.

  2. Specific Custom Metrics: If you prefer to import data for a specific Custom Metric, you can select the desired metric from the list. For instance, choosing "Cold Calls" will require a spreadsheet formatted to update or add data specifically for the Cold Calls Custom Metric.

Format Requirements

When selecting a specific Custom Metric, such as "Cold Calls," ensure your spreadsheet follows this format:

  • Include a column for the User Name or User Email Address. In the Example below we use the employee user name under the column "for".
  • The data should correspond to the first day of the month (for monthly resolution) or the first day of the week (for weekly resolution).

For a Multi Metric File, the spreadsheet should include:

  • A "Metric" column indicating the name of the Custom Metric.
  • The Name or ID of the Custom Metric.
  • A User Name or User Email Address.
  • Similar date and value conditions as the specific Custom Metrics.

Note: If no value is set, that entry will be skipped. If "CLEAR" is set as a value, it will clear the existing data.
