Activity & Engagement Scores in Membrain

Membrain’s Activity and Engagement Scores help sales teams measure how much interaction is happening on a prospect, sales project, account growth project or flow—and how meaningful those interactions are. These scores are designed to improve visibility, help teams prioritize outreach, and enable smarter, data-driven decisions about where to focus effort.

Rather than relying on assumptions or gut feelings, these scores give you a measurable way to assess whether a sales opportunity is moving, stalled, or gaining traction.

What Are Activity & Engagement Scores?

The Activity Score reflects how much action your team is taking—such as calls, emails, meetings, and form submissions. The Engagement Score measures how much your prospect or customer is interacting with you in return. This includes things like attending meetings, opening emails, clicking links, viewing shared content, visiting your website, and submitting forms.

Both scores are calculated daily and use a scale from 0 to 100. These raw scores are also grouped into levels for quick reference:

  • None (0)

  • Very Low (1–19)

  • Low (20–39)

  • Medium (40–59)

  • High (60–79)

  • Very High (80+)

How Scores Are Used

You can view Activity and Engagement Scores directly in project lists, sales projects, and accounts. Columns can be added for each score individually or together (as seen below), and you can filter based on score level to focus on the most active or engaged opportunities.

For example, a sales rep might filter to show only projects with a High or Very High Engagement Score, signaling prospects who are responding and ready to move forward. Or, they might focus on Medium Activity Scores to identify where follow-up might be needed.

The scores are also available throughout Membrain’s dashboards and reports. You can group or segment data by activity or engagement level, making it easier to understand how deals are progressing across teams, processes, or time periods.

Activity & Engagement Over Time

Activity and Engagement are displayed in a detailed timeline under a project's process stages. This timeline shows how interactions develop over days, weeks, or months, helping you spot trends, gaps, or bursts of activity.

The timeline includes data such as:

  • Website visits

  • Content Hub views

  • Membrain Meet requests

  • Email opens and link clicks

  • Form submissions

  • Meetings and other logged activities

More significant actions, like meetings or form submissions, are highlighted and clickable. Others are grouped together to provide context without overwhelming the view.

Timelines are available in project previews, the Engagement Matrix, and stakeholder dialogs—giving users a consistent view of engagement across different parts of the platform. You can also configure timelines per process. If a particular process doesn’t rely on activity tracking, the timeline can be hidden entirely from within the process settings.

Fair and Meaningful Scoring

Membrain scores are designed to reflect quality as well as quantity. For example, a meeting with two or more external participants receives a higher engagement score than one with no external attendees. A single meeting won’t max out the engagement score on its own, preventing misleading spikes and helping you maintain a fair, balanced view of interaction levels over time. These calculations ensure the score reflects true engagement, not just busy work.

Where You’ll See It

Activity and Engagement Scores are available across multiple views and tools in Membrain:

  • Prospect, Sales Project, Account Growth and Flow views: Add columns and filters for score level

  • Dashboards and Graphs: Segment, group, and sort visual data using activity or engagement level

  • Engagement Matrix: View summarized and individual timelines with interaction highlights

  • Stakeholder dialogs: See a contact's activity and engagement history within the context of a specific project

Whether you're reviewing your own pipeline, preparing for a team meeting, or coaching a colleague, these scores help you quickly assess interaction intensity and make better-informed decisions.

Summary

Activity and Engagement Scores provide clear, consistent insight into the flow of interactions between your team and your prospects or customers. With daily tracking, visual timelines, and flexible filters, these scores turn interaction data into actionable guidance—so your team can focus where it matters most.
